I’ve been wanting to try making beeswax wraps to see how easy they are and if they really work as well as the store bought wraps!

Thank you for taking the time to share this! What kind of fabric did you use?

  2. @jobond3317 on February 5, 2025 at 4:36 pm

I have tried them but they are not for me. You can’t clean them. I use either reusable containers or saved clean plastic bags. Yes I know its plastic but I wash out my plastic bags and reuse them

I asked for a big bag of wax to make the sizes I want cuz I have a ton of fabric. I’ll be doing this today

Whilst i love that you’re trying to reduce plastic, it bothers me that these wraps are all made using such vivid fabrics which are highly toxic to the environment because of the dyes going into the water when being made. Please be careful!!!

Looks like a great holiday gift for coworkers to me! Thanks for sharing 🙂

Thank you so much for showing what worked and what did not work. This was the best tutorial. 😍

I used a double boiler set up to melt the wax. rosin and added some jojoba oil. The rosin got sticky and lumping and took hours to melt(not exaggerating !). Then I used an iron because the wax mixture hardened quickly. Getting it to the edges was difficult and the rosin separated from the wax as it cooled. Really a mess and it seemed to take a huge amount of wax to get a good coating. I’m going to try heating in a microwave quickly and pour it on using the iron to spread it out. Does that sound like it will work better?

Did you have any that dried flaky? That’s the issue I’ve been having and any tips would be great! I tried ironing to even out the wax but still seems like too much

  9. @talloolahmoon on February 5, 2025 at 4:44 pm

Why is the pine rosin and jojoba added?

I agree that the size options are limited, and I also would like the option of a very large size wrap, but…
You found that ADORABLE bee and honey comb design bland?!!
    😦🤨

The best video ever. Thank you so much !!!!!!!!!

(Salt on wax paper, low temp to clean irons.)
I’d try a heating pad to do this.

  14. @tubaengin on February 5, 2025 at 4:49 pm

Great job 🎉 what i did was I placed the fabric over parchment paper and paint with wax and I lay another fabric on top of first one and put a second parchment paper. Than I ironed it. While it was still warm just separate fabrics. In one tour you will get two wrap.

  18. @jenniferbassett3001 on February 5, 2025 at 4:53 pm

    Fabulous video… and concept!
I’m wondering how long they last?
Are you still using the ones that you made in this video?

  19. @Simplentertainments on February 5, 2025 at 4:55 pm

What is the ratio of bees wax vs pine rosin that you mixed in that bowl? 🥣

  20. @jaycee2362 on February 5, 2025 at 4:55 pm

Any ideas on what type of store sells pine rosin locally?

  21. @maryfincher4814 on February 5, 2025 at 4:56 pm

Hi I am so happy I just found your channel. I have been trying to make the wraps but they’re not sticking, I have my beeswax I have my resin I have my jojoba oil and I’m just stuck. Thank you for the excellent idea of putting aluminum foil on my iron. I will be implementing that to try and fix my wax. Any suggestions I would gladly accept.

  22. @OnlyDaria7250 on February 5, 2025 at 4:58 pm

What about pouring it into the cloth and using a putty knife to swirl in?

  23. @jasminerosewater3891 on February 5, 2025 at 4:59 pm

i’m going to make these with my preschool children!!

  24. @mysense7005 on February 5, 2025 at 5:00 pm

Hi, can you please help me? I have cotton upper shoes in pastel pink colour and I was wondering if I should impregnate them with beeswax. Do you know if it will alter their colour a lot?

  25. @sunnshine9965 on February 5, 2025 at 5:01 pm

You forgot jajoba oil in your mixture

  26. @tinabrock7148 on February 5, 2025 at 5:02 pm

I’m so glad I came across this. I’d never heard of these before today. I found them at TJ Maxx she bought 4 wraps. I came to you tube to find more info on them. Your video is awesome and I will be making these for my family and myself

  27. @ummefazil on February 5, 2025 at 5:03 pm

Aluminium foil doesn’t get the electric shock?

  28. @lloydcurtis2101 on February 5, 2025 at 5:03 pm

Did anyone ever answer what the ratios are? I have been searching the comments? Great video, just wish the ratios were included.

  29. @JM-dj6hq on February 5, 2025 at 5:06 pm

    I.will.try this.

  30. @angelg.s.1053 on February 5, 2025 at 5:06 pm

Love the experiment and particularly enjoyed the process, thanks for sharing.

  31. @verofernandez8964 on February 5, 2025 at 5:09 pm

Followed your instructions and my wraps came out perfect!! The only difference is that i used a silicone brush and the wax was so much easier to apply to the fabric than using a regular brush and on top of that, the wax did not get attached to the silicone brush and cleaning was super easy.

This is a fun crafting project for a Saturday afternoon. I’d start out with unbleached, heavier muslin made from organic cotton just to stay on the safe side, since this will likely have direct contact with food at some point. Fabric dyes aren’t commonly from nontoxic sources and will leach out and into foods. This happens with microwavable plastic frozen food trays when heated.

Thank you – love your tips!

  34. @Sharkie2004 on February 5, 2025 at 5:10 pm

Parchment paper…. the clue is in the name of the wax paper. Don’t use wax paper to bake with either.

  35. @deanhawley4352 on February 5, 2025 at 5:15 pm

Can someone please comment on the ratio of ingredients please

  36. @COEXIST-ny4db on February 5, 2025 at 5:15 pm

Great job! Thank you so much for showing the not so good parts! Saved me a little trial and error! I really appreciate that! I can’t wait to try your style!!

  37. @dawnberkshire1145 on February 5, 2025 at 5:16 pm

    why pine resin?

  38. @leannolson1982 on February 5, 2025 at 5:18 pm

    Thank you!

  39. @davecommander3958 on February 5, 2025 at 5:19 pm

I just dipped the fabric in melted beeswax, worked just as well

  40. @tatianastorey1627 on February 5, 2025 at 5:20 pm

Thank you SO much for this video!! Do you only put it on one side? Or do you paint both sides?

  41. @ikhouvanrosa on February 5, 2025 at 5:20 pm

How do I clean it after i use it?

  42. @HouseKatArmy on February 5, 2025 at 5:20 pm

Be careful using pine rosin – make sure you let people know that you have put it in your wraps if you give them as gifts, its a common allergen (it’s used in medical adhesives). I would have a horrible allergic reaction to these.

  43. @powerofloveism on February 5, 2025 at 5:27 pm

Where did you purchase the wax?

  44. @VenüsArt-q9u on February 5, 2025 at 5:28 pm

thank you for the tutorial. but can you please tell the exact ratio?

  45. @laureenmaceachern7314 on February 5, 2025 at 5:28 pm

How much of beeswax and pine rosin do you use?

  46. @kmd2221 on February 5, 2025 at 5:28 pm

maybe you can use a paint roller to get even distribution of the wax onto the cloth…

  47. @aliciacabreraseijas3077 on February 5, 2025 at 5:29 pm

Me animé solo una vez a hacerlo con buen resultado. Lo único que nadie me dice es cómo limpiar los utensilios, cómo limpiar la resina. Gracias si puedes ayudarme.

  48. @vinnavuong20 on February 5, 2025 at 5:29 pm

Good video, how did you melt the wax to iron onto the fabric?

  49. @gruenegal on February 5, 2025 at 5:30 pm

What’s the ratio to use with beeswax, pine rosin, and jojoba oil?
