i know its kind of old video but very true still. atm i am trying to implement a very minimal approach to my cameras too. That means: 2 lenses for a camera. 3 if you really have to. generally speaking: Lens 1: a generalist zoom lens (doesnt even have to be a fast one) and Lens 2: a specialized lens like fast prime for low light or bokeh shots or a macro lens or whatnot that can compliment the zoom. if your second lens is not a fast prime, i d go with a faster zoom. if you have a fast prime however, theres really no need to have a fast zoom on top. And since i like digital and film, i have 2 cameras with 2 lenses each and thats it.

An old Minolta film camera with 28mm 2.8 and 45mm 2 md rokkor primes for film and a D90 with the 18-105mm 3.5-5.6 (wich is a good enough general purpose lens i treat as an F4 wideangle and a F6 Telephoto) and for the situations i need more light or i want to be a bit more artistic with bokeh and stuff, i put the 35mm 1.8 on.

same with mirrorless. yeah, some of the stuff mirrorless have to offer sounds pretty cool and might help or make things easier here and there, but i dont even need that either. i am 100% sure, just because i have a mirrorless instead, i wouldnt really take better photos or take photos differently than i already do right now. Good old D90 still does like 95% of what i need it to do. and when i can do almost everything i want to with it, theres is almost no reason to spend a lot of money on a new body, new lenses, new sd cards just for the 5%

realistically, these cover about 95% of what i do or need.

Haha every time when I’m packing my backpack 😅 “yeah sure I’ll need two cameras, 3 lenses and of course I’ll need my drone” 🙈 in the end I just use 1 camera and 1 lens, maybe 2
